TRESTLEBOARD
As I have said, the Trestleboard fund is
depleted. We will sell business card advertisements for $35.00 per year and take
donations of $1 0.00 for a Trestleboard Booster page. Please look at your
situation and give serious thought to assisting us with the presentation of a
Trestleboard in the year 2000.
ANNOUNCEMENTS
1 . Belleview Christmas Parade is December 5, 1999. We need help with float preparation on December 4th. Call 307-0977 or 347-6547 if you can help. This is the second call for assistance with no volunteers thus committed. Brothers, we need your help.
2.The Christmas Party is December 10, 1999.
Brother Tim Fail is in charge and needs your support. Donations of Christmas
decorations, lights, and an electrical timer (to run lights at night) would be
greatly appreciated if you have them to spare. If you can help in any aspect,
please let us know. 3. December 9, 1999 is our final Lodge meeting for 1999.
This is the time for the Craft to elect new officers for the year 2OOO. Please
turn out and show your support for those officers who have fulfilled their
duties and continue to progress in the chain. This is a very crucial point for
Belleview Lodge No. 95 because we do not have enough people who desire to fill
the chairs to keep our Lodge functional. At least, show up to vote. It's your
Masonic duty.
4.Plans are not finalized for installation of officers in the year 2000, but I
will call or notify as many as I can when those plans are completed.
5.We still need to replace the ice machine and water fountain in the Lodge. The
cost of individual donations. Some brothers have already committed. If you can
help with any amount, please contact me or the Secretary. Your donation
will be greatly appreciated.
6.We are still in work trying to find someone to repair the soffit and fascia on the back side of the Lodge. We had contractors committed but they have become too involved with other work to continue so we must look elsewhere. Hopefully we will find a suitable individual to do the work within the budget constraints we have set. This undertaking will be paid for by the money raised from the fish fry in May of 1999.
WORDS FROM THE WORSHIPFUL MASTER
December 9, 1999 will be my last official duty as Worshipful Master of Belleview Lodge No. 95. 1 look back on this year with feelings of contentment and frustration. My contentment comes from knowing that, in my opinion, I have done the most I can do with what I had to work with. My frustration comes from the fact that I could not and did not accomplish the things that I most wanted to do. My primary goal for this year was to improve attendance at the Lodge meetings and the Lodge breakfast. I feel I have failed miserably in both aspects. I don't know what it takes to make people realize no man is an island unto himself but must have the support of those around him. I have had several brothers who I felt were instrumental in the success of this Lodge tell me that they would be at the meetings and support me in whatever I wanted to do. Promises were all I got in a lot of circumstances. Would you please, for the sake of Masonry, make an attempt to become an active supporter of Belleview Lodge and Masonry as your obligation has committed you to do?
Perhaps it is better late than never, but our attendance for the monthly breakfast was up from 13 paying customers in October to 45 paying customers in November. There were several people attending who promised to bring friends and family in December. Let's hope this trend continues and we get back to where we used to be with 60 to 90 people attending each breakfast.
Fraternally,
Steve Whaley
