IS THIS FUNNY OR WHAT?
It seems funny that a group of grown men who are supposed to be striving for the same goal can't agree on anything. It appears that when men become a certain age, they feel that all things should remain the same. The problem is that when this happens, an organization becomes stagnant. History teaches us that if you don't change with the times, life will pass you and your organization by. Masons have been here for a long time, but the world has changed in the last 30 to 40 years. Thirty years ago, being a Mason was pretty cool. Then Masons and men for that fact, didn't have much to do. They used Masonry as a means to congregate. Thirty five years ago, we didn't even have color TV. Forty years ago we couldn't even propel a man into space. If this all seems elementary, why is our organization using 100 year old rules? If we are not careful, we will become dinosaurs. Maybe it is time for us to look ahead as well as to the past. It is important that we keep our history and traditions intact. Unfortunately, we live in a time where being a Mason is not as cool as it used to be. Today we need to promote Masonry. We need to take a hard look at our rules and how to make ourselves more visible to the public. If we are successful, Masonry will become strong again.
I suppose It comes down to this simple fact. Do we move with the times, or just become dinosaurs and die out?
My food for thought - Jeff Whaley
WORDS FROM THE WORSHIPFUL MASTER
The fishing trip is tentatively on hold since no time for the weekend is available until August.
I still have not received keys for the locks on appendent body storage areas. If I am not given keys, the locks will be cut. This is the last time I will mention it.
