Trestleboard

April 2007

Nothing from the East this month as Worshipful obviously has his hand full with the Child ID Program.

ABOUT THE SOUTH: FROM THE WEST

I talked to our Junior Warden, Br. Bill Green, and everything considered, all is going fairly well with his wife's recovery. She fcas a rough road to travel, and our prayers should be with the both of them.

Br. Bill says that he misses coming to Lodge, and that he misses the brotherhood that we have at the Lodge. When he is able, he will be at Lodge to join us in our meetings.

FROM THE WEST:

I want to congratulate each and every brother who helped out at the fish fry. You made it a great success. The amount of help made the work go smoothly and much easier than I have seen before. Much thanks to our Sisters from Eastern Star. You all did a great job and we really appreciate it. Also thanks to all the wives and ladies who also helped us make the day go smoothly.

A couple of the Brothers need to be mentioned separately: It was great to see Steve Whaley trying to get involved in more than the ticket taking, but true to our word, we threw him out of the kitchen. You can't keep old dogs down, I guess!

Also, a special thanks has to go to Brother Rob Taylor for taking over the cooking chores and doing a great job ( for a rookie)! He cooked all day and took over he entire job after Worshipful Paul brooks had to leave.

[ also have to say thank you to Worshipful Jaby Oliver, the one in charge of the whole thing. He organized things very well, but if he pointed that finger one more time, I was thinking of sticking it in the fryer.

Also, great thanks goes to Brother Hugh Schomp for the picking up, cleaning, and returning of the fryers to The Shrine. We thank the Shrine for the use of those fryers as well.

Well, If I missed anyone, I'm sorry. Sometimes we forget to thank those people who generously give of their time and effort to make these functions work. Sometimes it seems that a simple thanks does not seem to be enough, but most of the time it is all we are able to give. Again, thanks to everyone.
