Trestleboard

September 2006

FROM THE WEST
Brethren, the Worshipful Master, his officers, and the members that participate are doing a great job taking care of your Lodge's business. From approving a new roof to practicing and holding Fellow Craft and Master Mason degrees to preparing for our rib Feast, these dedicated Brothers have worked hard to insure we continue to have a viable Lodge in Belleview. They do this because they believe in Masonry. They believe in its charity which has been of service recently to several elderly and ill Brothers. They believe in its community service activities like the Child ID Program which has saved several children in our state from a horrible fate.
They believe above all that men of Honor working together can
accomplish anything, and during that process enjoy a special bond of fellowship and Brotherly love that transcends everyday society.

FROM THE SOUTH
Brothers, we have completed our Fellow Craft Degree, and will be getting our new Brothers ready to be raised in the near future. We are working very hard to educate our new Bothers and have them understand what Masonry really is. For some, it is a stepping stone to organizations like the York Rite, Scottish rite, and The Shrine. This is absolutely great, but we need these young men to be active in their Blue Lodge so that in the future the backbone of Masonry will be sound and well cared for. Between Past Master Paul Brooks and myself, may hours have been spent with these young men preparing them to be passed to the Fellow Craft Degree. WE NEED MORE INSTRUCTORS   TO HELP US IN THIS TASK! If you have an interest in being an instructor, please call and we will get you involved. It is my hope that we will have these Brothers raised by October. There are many ways to get involved. Any Brother with a some time can help with The Trestle Board, such as printing , folding, and stuffing envelopes if at all possible. Between being the Junior Warden , doing the food preparation without a single Steward, handling the Trestle Board, and Lodge Instructor, my plate is  overly full; not impossible, but it sure does keep me busy. I appreciate everyone pitching in to help nie this year, especially Brother Ted Mullins, who is always willing to give me any help that is needed.

From The East
THIS PARAGRAPH IS A COMPLETE REWRITE AFTER THE FELLOW CRAFT DEGREE ON OCT. 31. IT IS AN ABSOLUTE SHAME THAT TWO BROTHERS GO THROUGH THIS DEGREE WITH ONLY TWO PEOPLE SITTING ON THE SIDELINES. THOSE TWO WERE THE DISTRICT DEPUTY GRAND MASTER AND THE BROTHER WHO GAVE THE LECTURE. ABSOLUTELY NO ONE FROM BELLE-VIEW LODGE SHOWED UP FOR THE DEGREE. IF A MEMBER WHO HAD NOT BEEN HERE IN SOME TIME HAD NOT SHOWN UP,

WE WOULD HAVE HAD THE DDGM SITTING AS OUR TYLER. THIS IS ABSOLUTE DISREGARD FOR THE LODGE AND ITS FUNCTIONS. COME TO MEETINGS -KNOW WHAT'S GOING ON!
